Man charged over Albrighton knife-point robbery

A man has been charged in connection with the robbery at the Co-op and two incidents in Wellington.

West Mercia Police have charged a man in connection with the knife-point robbery at the Co-op on Albrighton High Street, along with an armed robbery and a commercial burglary in Wellington.

The charges

  • two counts of robbery
  • possession of a bladed or pointed article in a public place
  • possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence
  • possession of a firearm while committing an offence
  • burglary other than a dwelling

He was remanded in custody to appear at Telford Magistrates' Court on Friday 28 August 2026.

The case is now before the courts. Anyone charged with an offence is presumed innocent unless proven guilty, so we are not able to say more at this stage.
